Ranch Horse Clinic

Get your horse to partner up with you for this 2-day ranch horse skills clinic. Find out how to get your horse to work for you and not against you with tasks like gate opening, obstacles, dragging logs, and cow working principles. We will have live cattle for you to practice on and work to advance your skills. You’ll have an opportunity to work on skills like sorting, cutting, and boxing a cow. Whether you have been competing or are just starting out, this is a great clinic to build your horse’s confidence in the herd. Find out how to get your horse hooked on a cow and working off the suggestion of your leg. This will be a fun learning packed experience for both you and your horse. 

You’ll learn: 

  • How to cut and hold a cow from the herd
  • Developing a better stop 
  • How to get your horse light off your leg and reins
  • How to prevent your horse from loosing cows
  • How to get better performance from your horse on a cow
  • The basics to developing a handy riding horse

About your Instructor: 

As a horse development specialist, Matea Babcock understands horse psychology and can help to fast track your progress. Her experience lies in the foundation, where all issues start. She works to get you and your horse on the same page. With her natural approach to horse training, she can help you develop your horse while keeping the relationship intact. She’s also a certified NVRHA (National Versatility Ranch Horse Association) judge. Cow working is a favorite hobby of her’s.
